For the second year in a row, I was asked to look after the kid's cinema at Reck Rock Festival in Buxworth, Derbyshire. The stripy canvas marquee in the kid area of the festival was mine to decorate.

Of course, I would have wanted red velvet curtains for our cinema, but I was donated yellow ones, never mind.. I customised them with some upholstery trims and made some tassels out of wool and ribbons. At least it went well with the blue and white canvas marquee...

Stunning site, isn't it ? That's the Peak District for you! - This was few days before the event started and in case you are wondering what is the giant flying saucer on the ground it's a massive metal brasier waiting for the night to come.

Screening sign made up using weather proof paper prints and plywood.

Old style camera made out of a washing powder box, round biscuit tins, veg tins for the lenses and broken camera tripod, I re-use everything me...and it turns too...

This ornate banner was used inside and above the screening bed sheet we used for the projection.

I wanted something a bit more wacky for the inside decorations so I decided to make a special bunting! I have used all sorts of fluffy toys, my son wasn't too chuffed about that ;-). The bunting also included stars made of out of drinking straws, shinny ribbons, wool, feathers, toys... all hanging from the ceiling out of reach. We were lucky enough to have a sitting floor made out of lots of wood palette and exhibition carpet, that kept the kids out of the wet ground.
