This was a fantastic community project, where members of the community, the local school and church were all involved. I came up with the ideas and made some samples, and then the volunteers helped us out to create more (three tiered cakes were made by school children. We had a workshop at school with parents who helped sticking the 100 'drink me' labels on the water bottles, they also did a lot of the tissue pompom balls for the hanging decorations.

I looked for simple picture frame shapes, cut and painted them all in different pastel shades. The children from school used them for their own exhibition of the Mad Hatter Tea Party in the markee.

This lovely crochet tea cakes, mouse were made by a lady from the community, they were all scattered on the tables.

The beautiful laminated paper doilies used as place mats were made by school teachers using quotes from the book Alice in wonderland.
